Cultural Evening

Gunston celebrated the cultures of all students and even of the school itself.  Families brought and tasted various foods from their traditions.  Many wore traditional clothing of their culture or country.  Afterwards everyone participated in activities, toured the museum of Gunston class artififacts or watched cultural dance and shows in the gym.  It was an evening of learning and valuing each other.

Our Gunston community was amazing.  There were so many delicious foods, stunning garments and mesmorizing shows. Our Henna room was so packed full of those who wanted hand designs that several community members jumped in to help everyone get one.  Colorful rain sticks and dragons were created and the museum was a hit with every classroom showing off their culture with artifacts.

While the entire event was supported by many community members, students and staff, everything was put into motion by the awesome planning and early labor of Kathryn Garcia, Nicole Oberdick, Andrea Hogan, Andrea Berger and Retno Nuristani.

Isn't it just lovely that so many community members jumped in to support the crowds. Gunston people seem so nice!
