Gunston students attended the National Symphony Orchestra's Young People's Concert (for all 4th graders in FCPS.) 

The students learned about all the instruments that make up an orchestra. Since 4th grade is the year the students are given the opportunity to learn how to play a stringed instrument at school, they were especially excited when "their" instrument was being showcased. They were also in awe of the grandeur and opulence of the venue. From the red carpets and the display of the flags of the countries , to the enormous chandeliers and the velvet seats, the students felt special and appreciative of the experience. 

Students dressed in their best for the performances and talked excitedly about the event even after their return to school in the afternoon.
