Apply for Early Learning for Children Six Weeks to Four Years Old

The FCPS PreK and Early Head Start program is accepting applications for SY 2024-25. FCPS PreK and Early Head Start programs provide a high-quality early learning experience for qualifying income-eligible children ages six weeks to four years living in Fairfax County.

Field Day 2024

It was a beautiful day for field day. The morning was filled with excitement and games with the 4-6 grades filling the fields. The afternoon (and most of our photos) were the younger classes. Relay races, water games, and even chalk drawing and bucket stacking grabbed everyone's attention. 6th graders volunteered and made extra fun for students who participated.

We Are Gunston

Gunston celebrated cultures of all the students and even of the school itself. Families brought and tasted various foods from their traditions. Many wore traditional clothing of their culture or country. Afterwards everyone participated in activities, toured the museum of Gunston class artififacts or watched cultural dance and shows in the gym. It was an evening of learning and valuing each other.

Bee Bots Brightly Beckon Benton's Bunch

Ms. Benton’s first graders gathered around in a brightly lit classroom, their eyes sparkling with curiosity and excitement. On the tables in front of them lay a fleet of small, colorful robots known as Bee Bots. Through hands-on experimentation and creative problem-solving, the kids not only learned the basics of coding but also developed essential skills such as critical thinking, perseverance, and collaboration.

Fairfax County Public Schools wants you to be a part of our team! We are seeking educator talent with strong student engagement skills and a passion for having a positive influence on our school communities. We are hosting a job fair on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 (11 a.m. - 2 p.m.) at Mount Vernon High School. There will be networking and interviewing opportunities with representatives from various FCPS schools. Employment offers may be extended during the fair.
